Review of The 15:17 to Paris (2018) by Mark P — 05 Mar 2018
I knew the triumvirate of central characters were the actual real heroes so I did not have high expectations. They did fine! All the snobby critics who think they protect the hoi polloi from a bad movie experience are dissuading good Americans from a movie that should make them proud.
These are good kids, just trying to make it in life and have fun on a vacation and when it was time to meet their destiny, they did it with courage, unselfish dedication and even panache (to quote the French) It was a short film, told a good story on multiple levels, and I found it refreshing to be proud to be an American instead of ashamed, dejected, guilty, or dismissive of the kind of heroes this country produces from its "heartland".
I felt like I went on the journey with them, and it was really cool to see the actual footage of them receiving France's highest honor from their President. I'm going to trust that Clint Eastwood knows what he's doing.
Go see it while it is still in theaters.
