Review of The 15:17 to Paris (2018) by Wayne M — 23 Dec 2018
This film is based on a real life story wherein 3 American kids(mid 20s) foiled a terrorist attack onboard a train in France. Lately it seems Clint Eastwood is obsessed with working on real life events.
Eastwood is famous for working fast and bringing his movies in on time and under budget, and "The 15:17 to Paris" is another example of that legendary efficiency: supposedly he decided to tell the trio's story after giving them a Spike TV Guys' Choice Award just 19 months ago.
However, this movie, as much as its intentions are good is not very good as a product itself. For one the choice to cast the three men and not professional actors backfires- there is a reason acting is an art and actors are so highly paid.
These guys lack the gravitas and presence even though they are the real life individuals. The entire film gets boggled down due to this glaring mistake.(Should have gone with real actors).
