Review of The 15:17 to Paris (2018) by Joey B — 09 Feb 2018
This was a finely crafted script about an engaging subject matter. Could it have easily been 'The Movie of the Week' on network TV? Yes. Would the Lifetime channel be a likely candidate for future television viewing.
Yes. Eastwood knows how to wrap a bow around anything involving heroism, American spunk and shear underdogedness to be entertaining. The fact that he got more than just the top 3 young men to participate as themselves really added to the cinematic experience I had.
Intercutting the drama that took place on the train to Paris with the backstory of not only the early long friendships of the boys, but the struggles and different knowledge that two of the three of them experienced during military training comes together well by the time we see what actually went down on that train.
A neat package at a time when we Americans look so damn horrible to the rest of the world due to the idiots we have running our country.
