Review of Tetro (2009) by Pawel B — 06 Sep 2010
The best of both worlds-- Spanish and Italian--in this stylistic and timeless film with a twist at the end. Definitely a longer film, but it kept my attention, and though I am normally not a fan of black and white films, this was so crisp and beautiful that I definitely appreciated the untraditional approach.
This film defied time in that, though it was a modern film (set in 2008), much of it took you back to an earlier time, making it difficult to ascertain when it was set. The young brother resembled Leonardo DiCaprio in both looks and voice.
I liked Miranda in the film, definitely better than in "Y Tu Mama Tambien?" I was in the mood for an "artsy-fartsy" film, and this definitely did the trick.
