Review of Tetro (2009) by Mark S — 21 Jun 2009
This seemed like a University film class romp through every possible cliche' of "The Art Film": Sullen, narcissistic and misunderstood artisian relives his past and builds a reluctant bridge to his immediate future through a Brother figure playing the "Straight Man" --- all the while supported by the intellgent and understanding lover who is supremely afflicted with the "Stray Cat" syndrome.
Man comes home from work, Man feeds dog, Man has skeletons in the closet revealed, Man reconciles with skeletons and closes the pedantic and utterly unengaging Mini Dramas in his life --- I was never drawn in and that's saying a lot because I'm usually a "sucker" --- if you can't reach me, it's a rental.
