Review of Tetro (2009) by Stefan K — 10 May 2010
I was pleasantly surprised by Coppola's new film. The film is quiet beautiful, the scenes always contain some interesting shots which feel like a refreshing splash-in-the-face. This is a more artistic European film.
The story is typical Coppola; about a family and it's troubles. I'm not surprised since Coppola himself is quite a family/heritage orientated individual. Granted the actual plot may be a little much at times but I feel that if your in a mood to see a more artistic film you'll enjoy it.
This is not a Hollywood movie but rather a single mans creativity reflected by the creative outlet he has mastered: film. Vincent Gallo is great in this film and brings the story to life with his nonchalant acting.
Great film, certainly worth watching.
