Review of Terror Train (1980) by Vinnie B — 07 Apr 2006
I'm beginning the rather lengthy task of entering into the database every film I have seen, at least those I have a decent memory of. Some may have the briefest of reviews while many will just have a number. Those films that I consider personal favorites and/or those that have some historical signficance I will add later when I have time for more lengthy reviews.
Terror Train, directed by Roger Spottiswoode, is a early 80's horror/slasher film set on a moving train. Stars Jaime Lee Curtis, Ben Johnson and David Copperfield.
The Toy, directed by Richard Donner, stars Richard Pryor as a struggling journalist. Jackie Gleason is a rich businessman with a bratty son. Gleason promises his son he can have anything in the store, and he wants Pryor, so Pryor becomes Gleasons' son's toy for a week. It's a woeful comedy.
Tapeheads, directed by Bill Fishman, stars John Cusack and Tim Robbins as a pair of security guards who start a video production company. This comedy was aimed at the MTV generation, and mostly misses the mark.
Tequila Sunrise, directed by Robert Towne, is a highly stylized crime drama involving a romantic triangle. Michelle Pfeiffer is the center of attention for Mel Gibson and Kurt Russell, two friends who are now on opposite sides of the law.
Teachers, directed by Arthur Hiller, is an unsuccessful satire of life in High School, for teachers and students. The film fails despite a fine cast that includes Nick Nolte, JoBeth Williams, Judd Hirsch, Lee Grant, Ralph Macchio, and Crispin Glover.
