Review of Terror Beneath the Sea (1966) by Gus S — 20 May 2008
Impressive sets, special effects and costumes are unfortunately wasted on a bad script with bad acting. Having a mostly American cast using a Naval submarine to attack a supervillian's evil, underwater lair was most likely an attempt to cash-in on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and the James Bond franchise which were both popular at the time.
In many ways it plays out like a good Saturday matinee, but the female lead will not stop screaming and the end escape seen is tedious and aggravating with non-stop Star Trek-esq fight scenes.
