Review of Terri (2011) by Matt S — 29 Nov 2011
Like most indie dramas trying really carefully to strike the perfect tone, this is pretty uneven. The lead actor and Reilly are terrifically likable but some of the films secondary characters, particularly the wildly uneven Chad Markuson, play more as flat, exaggerated caricatures than interesting, realistic people.
The film is at its best when it's less focused on how awful life and other people are for Terri. The notebook 'conversation' between Terri and female lead is a highlight.
