Review of Terri (2011) by Frances H — 04 Apr 2013
Maybe this film had good intentions to show a sympathetic view of adolescence, but no administrator in a school would ever act as the vice principal did in this film, and I know, because I was a teacher.
This film was so far out in left field from reality that it could not be taken seriously, which only makes it ridiculous. Also, there is such a thing as a dress code--any kid showing up in pajamas in a public school would be sent home to change into clothing that was in accordance with said dress code.
If an assistant principal treated his students as this one did in this film, he would be summarily fired. I know students do the stupid things these kids did, but is it necessary to encourage it by glorifying it in a movie? I don't think so.
