Review of Terms of Endearment (1983) by Alyssa C — 07 Apr 2008
Long, long, tear jerking wannabe, and long. This went right up James L. Brooks alley, but I didn't enjoy it all. First of all, I don't do well with the adultery stories just because it doesn't feel like something I need to be watching.
I liked the credits (where she walks into her daughter's room and the daughter asks her Mom if she wants to sleep in her bed) but most everything after that was pretty worthless to me. Oh, and well the music was horrific! Every time they wanted you to feel sentimental, they would throw out the same piano solo that felt like a old church video.
It made me laugh every time it came on, but not in a good way. My vote: 4.
