Review of Terms of Endearment (1983) by Robyn M — 04 Sep 2012
''TERMS OF ENDEARMENT'' is a funny, touching, beautifully acted film that covers more territory than it can easily manage. It's the 30- year saga of a mother and daughter; the story of a charmingly eccentric woman who, in her 50's, finally permits herself to fall in love; and the chronicle of a troubled marriage between a young professor and his whimsical bride.
It's a comedy, offbeat and lighthearted, then turns painfully and unexpectedly tragic in its final half hour.
