Review of Terminator Salvation (2009) by Beth C — 09 Jan 2013
What a shit movie. Terminator Salvation completly raped the terminator franchise. How does that happen? Oh wait you just get an talentless director like McG to direct it. What was so bad about this movie you ask? Let me tell you.
For one, the script seemed like it was written by drunk college kids who just wanted explosions. The acting is terrible as Sam Worthington once again shows that he is a poor actor. The directing is terrible and McG is definately talentless.
The thing that really irritates me the most is the fact that this series was at one point, great. I mean two classic movies in a row. Sure Terminator 3 was a dissapointment but it still felt like a terminator movie not some big budget, high octane action flick.
Being a diehard T2 fan, this was very painful watch. John Connor wasnt even the leader of the resisstance in this movie. How do you screw that plot point up? Lets not forget the brief "Arnold" cameo.
I put quotations around Arnold because it wasnt even him. Just some heavy CGI trying to prove some sort of point. With some much potential, this movie could have been much more. The whole judgememt day, resisstance vs machines was such a great idea that was just thrown away.
For me at least this had to be one of the biggest dissapointments in movie history. I really wanted to like this movie but I just couldnt. Its a shame too because Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors.
James Cameron should have been the one directing all Terminator films.
