Review of Terminator Salvation (2009) by Ryan K — 06 Jul 2014
I like the Terminator franchise, and this entry, the fourth, was entertaining. It had lots of fights, chases, and explosions. There were a few nods to the original films that I enjoyed. But the story has a lot of holes in it.
Terminator movies involve time travel, and time travel always opens up the possibility of paradoxes or pre-destination, where the characters have no choice but to act as they do because their futures are already known.
In addition, the human Resistance, fighting against computers and robots that want to exterminate humans, seems to be remarkably well-equipped in a post-apocalyptic world where one would think that fuel, food, electricity, and functioning military equipment would be in short supply.
Watch only if you like Terminator movies.
