It's primarily remembered for its computer effects breakthroughs that blew people away at the time and still hold up today but even without that this is an example of a sequel that builds on what made the first movie great but with bigger scale and expanded themes.
That said some of its plot holes and a mediocre performance of Edward Furlong keep it from being the masterpiece the first movie was.
