Review of Tender Mercies (1983) by Greg K — 23 Apr 2009
I was not expecting much when I picked this up, but it more than proved me wrong. Duvall and Harper are cast perfectly and nail their roles through the entire story. The film grabs your senses and holds them the whole way through.
Gorgeous cinematography. The scene where Duvall visits his ex-wife's concert is, in itself, enough to make the film worth watching. Her voice is quite literally out of this world in quality and emotion.
