Review of Ten Inch Hero (2007) by Grëg W — 11 Oct 2009
While the title may sound like a porno, this is actually a charming little romantic comedy about finding your true love, no matter how odd or weird their lives are. it stars elisabeth harnois as piper, a young lady who moves to santa cruz in search of her daughter, who she thought she found through an article in the paper.
she soon gets a job at a local sandwich shop, run by trucker (john doe of the punk band X), and his workers: the insecure jen (clea duvall), the beautiful tish (danneel harris), and the awkward but hilarious priestly (jensen ackles).
the group soon become good friends, and their stories are revealed. piper soon meets up with the girl who she thinks is her daughter, and noah, her father, played by none of than sean patrick flanery (connor from boondock saints).
they become good friends as well, and she later finds out the girl is not hers. in the meanwhile, jen is a hopeless romantic, spending her time talking online with a love interest, who she subsequently meets, but thinks he won't like her because she is not pretty.
tish, on the other hand, can't find any good guys, finding abusive boyfriends, but eventually ends up with priestly, who cleans up his appearance to impress her. trucker is in love with the woman across the street: zo (alice krige), who is apparently a good witch.
it all ends up being a happy ending. good movie.
