Review of Ten Canoes (2006) by Dan S — 13 Aug 2007
Cultural Liberals will drool over this one. The great David Gulpilil, narrates this Australian aboriginal legend about the relations between brothers and life in an aboriginal village long before White men colonized the Australia.
Not as good as the Canadian example of native legend writ large (Atanarjuat, The Fast Runner) but still very interesting. The story arc is clearly not western; for cinephiles and liberals only.
