Review of Ten Canoes (2006) by Nyree A — 14 Jul 2010
The charm, beauty and tickling humour was just about enough to pull me through the monotonous pace here. We are offered an insight into aboriginal culture and the film feels like it is telling a story very much in the authentic rhythm of the people it is representing, but it overuses certain visual techniques and I'm not sure if the overall narrative structure genuinely worked for me.
