Review of Temple Grandin (2010) by Douglas D — 14 Feb 2010
'Temple Grandin' was an interesting look at an interesting character, an interesting industry, and an interesting group of people. The music is pretty good, the story is told pretty well, and the pace of the film moves right along. Claire Danes is great in her role and probably deserves some type of award or recognition. And if the story sticks pretty close to the facts, the real Temple Grandin deserves even more recognition than she'll get from this humble little HBO film.
You may be wondering how this could be such a good film and not make it to the big screen. HBO has shown through its many outstanding TV miniseries and series like The Sopranos, The Wire, Rome, or Band of Brothers (just to name a few), that its productions deserve a fighting chance.
Well I'm here to highly recommend 'Temple Grandin' if you appreciate a character piece that's interesting, engaging, full of effective acting, and easily able to inspire emotion.
