Review of Tekken (2010) by Raymund J — 06 Aug 2010
Yet another failed fighting game adaptation. Tekken has an interesting premise and a decent style, but its ruined by poor acting, lazy storytelling and bland fight choreography. Had the film been more focused on the actual tournament and not too busy showing corporate takeovers, repeated flashbacks and random shootouts then this could have been goofy fun instead it's going to suffer a painful purgatory on the video store shelves.
Tekken earns a 1 star rating but I'll give it one more for the nice addition of Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (of Mortal Kombat fame) as Heihachi Mishima.
