It is with a very heavy heart I rate tekken as I have spent the vast majority of my life dreaming of this film and its potential only for barely any of it to be realised. The characters have the name and in some instances may resemble their counterparts but the film that I wanted to break the mould and be the first terrific video game adaptaion in truth is far poorer than many that have passed before it.

The tekken games are superior to street figthter and mortal kombat however the later two produced vastly better film than this. not that they were particularly good themselves. strangely huge ammounts of popular characters have not made the cut where as people like miguel and sergei have roles even tho many tekken fans hardly know or care for them.

There is next to no plot, its like someone pushed fast forward, its no joke to say some of the games have more intricate and well thought out storylines than this. the flashbacks are annoying, calling a character a jack doesnt make them so if they dont resemble a jack whatsoever, the acting is far from stellar and the fight scenes whilst good lack impact because nothing is known or cared about when it comes to the characters.

Its very poorly executed which is a crying shame. Yoshimitsu is done relativly well when you consider how bad that could of turned out and there is the nice nod to the franchise for purists but ultimatly tekken will alienate both newcomers and fans alike.

not as bad as it could have been granted, but so dissapointing for something with such massive potential.
