Review of Teeth (2008) by Rákib R — 26 Oct 2009
Teeth definitely has an interesting premise however the sub-par acting and boring pacing pretty much tarnish Teeth's potential. First off, I'll start by saying that this movies features some of crazy gore effects that involves well.
..the male anatomy taken cut off and seriously, there are a few shots in Teeth that really grossed me out. I also have give props to the last 15-20 minutes of the movie, it finally manages to get interesting thanks to couple of decent twists and it is really too bad that before that point, the movie is really boring to watch.
On top of that, there isn't much in terms of terror or suspense and the acting all around is not very good other than Jess Weixler who does manage to deliver a semi-convincing performance as Dawn.
Overall, Teeth's lone strength is it's ability to disgust the viewer with the gore and to its' credit, it does well in brief moments however everything else about the movie just doesn't work The acting is poor, the story is a missed opportunity and Teeth is lacking in any real suspense which is inexcusable in a horror film.
