Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) by Steven B — 09 Jun 2016
An improvement on the first one, but that isn't saying much. At first I was the only Old Geezer Who Goes To The Matinee Alone who showed up, but soon a couple more were drug in my their grandkids. Like the first one this TMNT flic is based on the later comics so it more fun and not nearly as dark as the early comics.
The action, for no apparent reason starts off as soon as the movie opens. Turns out the TMNTs are Knicks fans, another disappointment in their lives I suspect. The movie does sort of try for a plot but not enough to ruin the action.
It does introduce Krang, an alien villain who will return in the next installment. Look I didn't really dislike this CGI fest so much as get bored at times. I will say some of the humor is very good and Megan Fox is easy to look at.
So if a couple of hours of mindlessness are what you are looking for, this is just the ticket.
