Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) by Deandre W — 06 Sep 2016
Michael Bay's produced Turtles sequel is a visual and tonal improvement over its predecessor...and that's about where the improvements end, these heroes in a half shell lack one crucial ingredient the team in the older films had.
..likability, hell, no one in this film is likable, what's even worse is that the Turtles 2 biggest baddies are absolutely wasted, Shredder and Krang basically do absolutely nothing, Shredder doesn't even have one single fight scene in the entire film, the comedy is juvenile and flat, there's no coherent story, and the Turtles barely do any Ninjutsu, then again, the foot clan in this film are pretty much useless, getting knocked out just by Arnet's character bumping into them, kids movie or not, studios have to stop disrespecting their audience no matter how young their intended audience is, this film's box office is prime example of that.
