Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) by Joe I — 25 Oct 2016
I don't know what it says about me as a Turtles fan when I say I enjoyed this movie. I can accept the fact that these are not my Turtles that I grew up with. I can accept that there are many aspects that I would change if given the power.
Examples of this in this movies case, a lot less Vern. His final scenes did do some redemption to Will Arnett's take on the character. Before that however, it does get really annoying. I personally would of chosen a different voice for Krang.
Casey Jones, as much as I did know Stephen Amell would play this role well, his backstory could of been fleshed out a bit more. Other than that, this movie really had more of the Turtle spirit to it than the first making it superior to me.
The characterization of each Turtle is the essence of who they are and why they have lasted so long. This is not my Turtles as I remember them, but this is a good step in seeing these characters continue in young minds.
I can stand behind this film, noticeable flaws and all.
