Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016) by Zombieaxehero — 07 Jun 2016
I think I may be one of the few people that actually liked the first Ninja Turtles movie. It was silly, sure, but what did you expect a movie about four anthropomorphic turtles to be like? Come the sequel, and now it was just pure absurdity.
I was actually looking forward to this movie for the inclusion of Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, and Casey Jones, yet at the end of the day, none of them hit any kind of mark with me. Every time one of them opened their mouths, they always had something stupid to say that sounds worse than the most childish cartoon you can think of (ironic considering I'm a young adult and Krang honestly made me want to puke). Every time they spoke, I had to bite my lip to keep myself from screaming at them to shut up, and you know you've done something wrong when Megan Fox isn't the most annoying person in your movie. Even the action sequences while entertaining felt utterly pointless since I didn't give a damn about what was going on. Literally the only things that didn't suck about this movie were the turtles themselves and the end credits song.
Supposedly there's a third film in the works, and honestly, I'm not going to let myself get suckered in again. If it turns out to be anything like this one, it'll be the biggest waste of time and effort in the past decade.
