Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023) by Calvincrack — 05 Aug 2023
It's a kids movie, and a pretty boring one at that. I would have walked out, but I was at one of those theaters with recliners and I didn't want to disturb 17 people. Plus I figured, MAYBE the end will have more action.
Which it did. But I still regret not leaving. This is now my least favorite movie of the summer. Some reasons why: 1. not funny 2. thinks it's very funny 3. annoying main characters 4. not nearly enough action for a movie with "NINJA" in the title 5.
overuse of bland old-school hip hop, felt like listening to the boring popular Tribe songs I never actually play 6. terrible structure, reminded me of Super Mario movie where it introduces the heroes, introduces the villain, 1 or 2 things happen to them, and then the film starts climaxing.
Badly paced; maybe this is just how it is when the studio insists on a 90 minute kid film, but I seem to recall better pacing of films when I was a kid in the 90's.
