Review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) by Jy S — 28 Feb 2015
I refused to see it in the Theater, but got it on DVD.. Noted, I have not read the comic series - but was a fan of the TV show when I was a kid. That being said. This movie was.. not entirely terrible.. but, dumb in its own ways.
The character of April O'Neil is the biggest idiot NYC has ever seen. Interrupts a meeting at her TV station to say that she witnessed a vigilante, with no proof.. calls her boss into her office to say that there are giant turtles running around.. with no proof.. Fired, duh, and her boss was right to do so. I dont think I can list all the ways she did more harm than good throughout the movie.
Story wise.. the TMNT's were science lab.. turtles.. ok, that's fine.. but April's dad was the scientist, and April knew them? and saved them? and coincidentally ran across them 15 years later? Really?
Shredder, you are the worst killer in history.
You unsheathe your blades only when you have no chance of hitting the turtles, and only punch or throw them around when they're vulnerable? Yeah.. moron..
Star Wars rip.. "The Rat did not train you well..".
Thanks Darth Shred-head.
This was made by Michael Bay and Nickelodeon Studios.. and it acted like it. This is a movie that only immature teens could appreciate. I'm surprised there wasnt a transforming robot with gigantic balls walking around..
