Review of Teen Wolf (1985) by Nathan P — 05 Feb 2008
While I have much love for Michael J. Fox, I can't let that sway my rating. This movie is typical. In fact so typical they made Teen Wolf Too with the exact same format in every way, except instead of Basketball they used Boxing. This sets up an innumerable amount of sequels that could be made.
Acting was pretty bad, but the plot was worse. Special effects/makeup then was no where near where it is now, but this movie had surprisingly decent wolf-makeup. One annoying element was the use of multiple shots to create the basketball scenes. It's almost like they were trying to pull a fast one, and pray that enough time had lapsed in the 90 second scene so we wouldn't notice the same layup/pass/steal/rebound. Yes, all had multiple uses of the same shot. However, it isn't as terrible as some of the stuff they are putting out now, so rent it, maybe you'll like it.
P.S. - Props to the guy who pulled out his package in the final scene. Maybe he knew the editing was going to be bad and was trying to make a point, or not. Either way congrats on getting to explain that to everyone you told you'd be in the movie.
