Review of Ted (2012) by Evan S — 20 Feb 2014
Like watching an episode of Family Guy stretched to 2 hours. It's exactly the same: little offensive jokes scattered around (although the jokes in the movie are VERY light compared to some of the stuff in the TV show), some 'cute' parts here and there, the voices are recognizable, some randomness, etc.
The special effects are awesome, specially how they blend Ted on the scene. I could say they perfected this kind of technique, but I thought that Roger Rabbit was perfect when it was released so maybe I'll think this isn't that perfect some years from now.
. but for now it's perfect, really. I don't particularly like Mark Wahlberg, but he's actually very good in this movie. I guess he is getting more tolerable recently. Mila Kunis is hot as always, but you can't help hearing she speaking and think of 'Meg', so they tried to do a cool character for her but you end up thinking she's a little lame.
I like Family Guy so this might be somewhat biased, but I think this movie is really good. Even for those who get easily offended, it's very easy to see past the stronger stuff, and I think everybody can enjoy this movie.
It's a must see.
