Review of Team America: World Police (2004) by Mrpajamas — 20 Nov 2021
I wanted to see this movie because I expected to laugh and I expected it to just be something for me, and that's only because Trey Parker is in charge of this movie, who was also in charge of one of my favorite TV shows, which is South Park.
Team America: World Police did not disappoint me and even pleased me because it exceeded my expectations. In short, it was something different than I expected. The humor was there, of course, and I laughed more than once.
But what appealed to me the most was the music, which I really enjoyed, along with the action, which I thought was very good. What also surprised me was the plot itself. I'm not saying it was masterful, but I just expected worse.
I'm not trying to praise it in any way overall, I'm just saying I was pleasantly surprised, which a lot of people may not be. In short, I thought South Park was a peak that couldn't be surpassed, and in the end I agree, but this movie was something else again, but still with the type of humor that South Park gives us.
In the final analysis, I would like to put it this way. I was expecting South Park to be the only one that really did well, but I was wrong because even Team America: World Police had something going for it.
For me, a good movie that I recommend mostly to South Park fans then, or fans of this raunchier humor.
