Review of Taxi to the Dark Side (2008) by Joe K — 11 Feb 2008
The Phrase "America's War on Terror" is one of if not the most ironically coined phrases being perpetrated by the American political/military juggernaut. This story like so many other ones that have been unearthed about American treatment of suspected terrorists is disconcerting to put it mildly.
The one aspect of the documentary I liked is that it tries to focus the spot light on WHO is truly responsible from the low level grunts to the actual officers and high ranking officials who dish out these initiatives from their ivory tower while keeping themselves at arms length from any real recourse.
It's not as provocative as some of the other countless docs on the same subject matter but it doesn't make it any less relevant. I'd also recommend seeing the "Road to Guantanamo" either before or after seeing this film.
