Review of Taxi to the Dark Side (2008) by Svetlana D — 10 Mar 2008
Defies ratings, actually. Worth seeing if you haven't read or seen anything about Abu Ghraib, Bagram, Guantanamo, or rendition.
Is forced standing "torture"? Forced standing doesn't sound very bad, does it? What if you're forced to stand with bruised legs until they literally turn to mush and you die? Is that torture? Does it fucking matter if you label it "torture," should it be done? What if it is done to a completely innocent person, as it was? What if it is done to other innocents? If the information obtained from non-innocents through this and similar types of "interrorgation" is unreliable, as it demonstrably is, then what the fuck is going on? Sadism? These are the questions that inevitably come to mind in viewing this documentary.
