Review of Taxi Driver (1976) by Grayson S — 04 Jan 2013
My favorite Robert De Niro movie, showcasing his excellent talent for acting. Also my favorite Martin Scorsese picture because of his excellent and interesting camera angles and shots. My favorite sequence is one about 6 minutes into the film that is a few different shots of the front and back of a taxi cab, with the raindrops coming into focus on an angle shot of the front windshield.
Wonderful. This film is the perfect manifesto for isolation and loneliness, and a great character study of Travis Bickle (De Niro). Bernard Herrmann gives his greatest movie score, other than the Hitchcock collaborations.
