Never have I seen a character like Travis in any other movies. Taxi Driver doesn't have an action packed storyline, and it doesn't need one. The movie depends on psychoanalysis of the protagonist and it is done magnificently to sculpt the character Travis into one of the most complex and interesting protagonist one could see in a movie.

It is hard to determine whether if he is a hero at heart or simply crazy, but the ending gives the clue that perhaps he is neither, he is simply someone who wants to be impactful. Yet there are still so many things to analyze, and little cues here and there that can leave audiences ponder about the character.

Martin Scorsese gives a great overall mood to the movie.
