Review of Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970) by Tim S — 10 Mar 2012
Christopher Lee returns for a fourth outing as Dracula in this Hammer Studios film. This time the Count is accidentally resurrected by a group of rich swingers who decide to dabble with satanic rituals out of boredom.
One of the vampire's acolytes is killed by the group, and the Count immediately sweeps into enacting ghastly revenge upon all the men and their families. This inspires a counterattack from the heroes, and ultimately the viewer is left thinking that Dracula would get killed far less often if he was just a little less fixated on payback.
While weaker than its predecessors, Taste the Blood of Dracula still has enough gothic grandeur to make for a reasonably entertaining movie experience.
