Review of Tarzan (1999) by Bill C — 13 Sep 2010
I rented it for my 2 sons 4-5 and they loved it like me. After watching it numerous times I came noticed that the first 30 minutes i.e. Young Tarzan is some of the best Disney animation ever. The movie blends 2D animation with a noticeable touch of 3d CGI.
The next hour falls to sloppy work both from an animation and story point of view. I checked the credits and 30minutes is the point where one team stopped and another took over. Personal thanks to Margie Danieles Key cell animator you beautiful line work did not go unnoticed.
Most disappointing this film is not available in Blu-Ray, like Toy Story 3 we probably have to wait till Disney's accountants feel there symbiotic profits will be maximized before Blu-ray version is available.
