Review of Tarzan (1999) by Guido S — 28 Dec 2013
In one of Disney's few remaining hand drawn animation, it takes on the tale of Tarzan. A young boy, left in the wilderness after his parents are ambushed and is raised by apes. One day, a group of explorers are hunting and Tarzan falls in love with the young woman who is the daughter of the head explorer.
They teach him English and about being a human and he forgets about his ape friends. Typical story from there. It is a bit violent for the little ones, when some of the action happens in the end, surprised this got a G rating, but a lot does happen off camera.
The animation is great, though a lot of computer touches were added to make this a weird hybrid of the two types of animation. Still a good movie, just doesn't do anything new, but worth a watch.
