Review of Targets (1968) by Tristan P — 07 Jul 2008
Incredible film! It's appropriate that TARGETS, a film about an old school horror film star questioning his relevence colliding with a disturbed young man on a killing spree, was released in 1968. Because 68 was the year NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD forever brought horror films into the modern. From that point on, Boris Karloff's (or Byron Orlock's, is you like) type of gothic horror would forever seem dated and quaint.
Tim O'Kelly's performance is just as incredible as Karloff's, and Peter Bogdanovich's script and direction are both superb.
