Review of Tango & Cash (1989) by Tyler R — 22 Sep 2012
"Tango and Cash" is a typical buddy cop film that plays out like any other buddy cop film: Two high profile cops with different methods are reluctantly teamed up when they are framed by a crime kingpin.
What isn't typical about this film is it's action. As is standard with a Sylvester Stallone film, the action has to be huge and bombastic, and it most definitely is. The acting is pretty solid too, especially from Stallone and Kurt Russel.
The plot moves along nicely, but there is a part about thirty minutes in that tries to do a shift in tone, but fails miserably. Outside of that issue, the film is goofy fun and an enjoyable Stallone piece.
