Review of Tangerine (2015) by Kevin R — 25 Jun 2016
Merry Christmas Eve, bitch!
Sin-Dee is a transgender recently released from jail after 28-days and is excited to see her pimp boyfriend until she discovers he has been cheating on her. She sets out on a mission to track down the woman he cheated on her with, and drag her to him for a confession. Did I mention it's Christmas Eve? One of her former clients obsessed with her is tracking her down as well.
"His breath always smells like he's been eating ass for days.".
Sean Baker, director of Four Letter Words, Takeout, Prince of Broadway, and Starlet, delivers Tangerine. The storyline for this picture is very unique, well told, and contains fascinating and well portrayed characters. The settings and cinematography are very well done. The cast delivers outstanding performances and includes Kitana Kiki Rodriguez, Mya Taylor, Karren Karagulian, Mickey O'Hagan, Ana Foxx, and James Ransone.
"I am morally opposed to the pimping shit.".
I came across this some time ago on Netflix, added it to the queue, and have been wanting to see it for some time. This was entertaining and very well paced. This has enough unique elements to make this a must see. I strongly recommend this picture.
"You forgot I got a dick too!".
Grade: B+.
