Review of Tammy and the Bachelor (1957) by Amber B — 19 Mar 2008
Like an obscure country tune and a piece of thick, fluffy cake. Like in Pollyanna. Reynolds embodies the character with ease and her short sweet love song is a treat that I would not miss. Yes it is essentially about falling in love but its not rushed, its innocent and its just irresistible when Tammy transforms from an ignorant youth to a woman of wise words.
The scene where she portrays an old family ghost and captures the hearts of her audience is one of the many highlights in this well-written film. No other versions or sequels, just this one.
