Review of Talk to Me (2007) by Augusto R — 08 Mar 2008
I felt like I was watching this on network television on a Sunday afternoon, or an after school special. The movie celebrated everything that was good about Petey Greene's life and career, but did not really show us the bad side.
The problems. Petey disappears at selected times and comes back. The movie should have included those parts. No need to protect me from the truth. It's the reason I wanted to see the movie. Also, could we get a little more ground work to support Dewey and Vernell's deep friendship? Of course there is no fault to Don Cheadle's and Taraji P.
Hensen's performances because they were priceless as usual, but the movie itself didn't take the opportunity to really get into the whole story. The story I needed to be told.
