Review of Talk to Me (1996) by David E — 06 Jun 2008
Decent biopic about a semi-important duo of which I had never heard. The performances and writing are pretty good, but the whole thing strikes me as caricaturized. I trust the significant events included actually occurred, but it's tough to buy Petey Green's immediate rise on the DC airwaves here.
Perhaps you had to be around at the time to appreciate a "real talking" guy on the radio, who "tells it like it is." Point is, he seems like an early shock jock, nothing incredible.
