WOW - I read the books but it seems the makers of this movie did not. Looks like they read the cliff notes version of the cliff notes and then said "Screw it! We like the names of some of the lead characters and the idea of getting some of Kings readers in the door.
But we need an all new story that bears very little resemblance to the books everyone loved." Special effects were good but that's not saying much in a world of cgi. Save your money.
