Stone's movie about radio bitch fests. Such entertainment feeds on fear, gloom and doom. The weird thing all critics missed, is the hero barry is not like the type of extremist right wing ppl who really have these shows, instead he confronts and provokes the ppl who wallow in hate, paranoia and propaganda - the same stuff in the 80s is still around it just adapts to whatever is current, it serves to obscure real evil with false smoke/mirrors.
Barry provokes the deep impulses behind it all and it takes him out.
