Review of Talk Radio (1988) by Mikael K — 23 Mar 2012
Oliver Stoneâ(TM)s intense thriller classic about one night in the life of a controversial radio host. In âTalk Radioâ? Stone creates a certain seductive horror that surrounds the main character completely; the night is dangerous, speech is endless and feverishly frantic, nightmares and fears coalesce into a reality of their own.
âTalk Radioâ? reminded me of Sydney Pollackâ(TM)s marvellous âThey Shoot Horses, Donâ(TM)t They?â? and some of Martin Scorseseâ(TM)s darker creations. Itâ(TM)s a deep psychological character study that engulfs the viewer with its particular eerie tone and knife sharp dialog.
