Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Evan H — 14 May 2011
This movie was a lot different from what I expected. Yes, it's a bit of a comedy, but it's very much a dark comedy with messages strewn throughout the film.
The movie is about the town that held the Woodstock concert and the chaos that insued around the area. Drugs, booze, hippies, trannies you name it...it was happening.
There are some funny moments in the film, but there are so many missed opportunities. Not once do you get to see a concert or people on stage...the while point of the concert. Instead the essays conveyed is becoming free and just doing what feels good. I was a bit disappointed there were especially some parts near the end that had no answers...
Overall, a decent flick but definitely not what I expected. Give this one a rent this is definitely not for everyone.
