An HBO film about a Marine Colonel(Kevin Bacon) whom in feeling guilty for requesting to stay with his family while his comrades go to Iraq, volunteers to escort the body of a Marine killed in combat home to his family for burial.
Based on a true story, it stays away from criticizing the Iraq War or the policies of the leaders who led us into that war, but rather is a simple tribute to our fighting men and women. Not a cheesy melodrama like most films dealing with this type of subject. There is no inauthentic Patriotism here, just a genuinely touching story.
